Uncle Dan Report #11: Ralph Nader, Ron Paul, Uncle Dan is demoralized by the "Suburbanization" of the area

UDR#11

Different things discussed on this episode:

  • Obama wants to assassinate child rapists? Hmmmmm. Some ruminations on child-rape included.
  • A minute or two on Ron Paul: independent thinker-good, Libertarian-not so good.
  • Poor Ralph Nader-I agree with almost EVERYTHING he says, but the system is such that he has no chance. Possibly he could have started smaller instead of running for President.
  • Uncle Dan's demoralizing search for a Bjork CD. It was finally obtained, but the voyage was trying indeed.

Uncle Dan Report #10: George Carlin Dead; America goes to Hell

UDR#10

Mostly stories and reflections on George Carlin, who is more of a cultural icon than Tim Russert, specifically:
  • A great cold-open that has less in common with Ron Paul than his supporters would have you think (It came from a Ron Paul video montage)
  • George Carlin covered a lot of ground in comedy, as both Bill Hicks, and Jerry Seinfeld, plus others, can lay claim to Carlin as an influence.
  • Although I didn't know it at the time, when I was a child I learned about masturbation from Carlin, which would come in quite handy later on.
  • Amazingly, Rush Limbaugh claimed Carlin as a kindred spirit-what a hoot!
  • Other stuff about George Carlin.
  • Finally, is America going to Hell?
And, if you listen all the way to the end, you'll find out my interesting (and yes, a bit sexist) take on Michelle Obama. You'll need to listen to the ENTIRE episode to find out.

Uncle Dan Report #9: More Bush crap, Goetta, and a mess of other stuff

UDR#9

Different things in this, the 9th episode:

  • Uncle Dan apologizes for mis-numbering episodes.
  • Uncle Dan has started reading "What's the Matter with Kansas?"
  • The right-wing "Culture War" is what is keeping their party together.
  • Goetta, what it is, plus, the enduring question: Is goetta considered a sausage?
  • George Bush interviewed on Sky News...what an idiot, but we already know that.

Uncle Dan Report #8: Remembering "Remembering Tim Russert"

UDR#8

Yes, yet another podcast about Tim Russert, and more!

  • But first, the nasty weather in Uncle Dan's neighborhood and all over the country is raining havoc everywhere.
  • Dying of a sudden cardiac arrest is scary, I'll try to walk more, and maybe not eat as much crap food.
  • In our time of mourning, we still can't forget that Russert gave Cheney softball questions before the Iraq war started.
  • As well as putting the nail in the coffin of Dennis Kucinich.

I wanted to go on longer, but the storm was a-comin' and I wanted to make sure the episode wasn't lost

Uncle Dan Report #7: The Anal Leakage Episode

UDR#7

Actually, the anal leakage portion just kinda slips out at the end...other topics include:

  • A bit of a recap of the stormy journey of Uncle Dan's Chicago trip
  • Cicada's have attacked southwestern Ohio in near Biblical proportions-and are especially annoying this year. BONUS: Uncle Dan's recreation of their sound.
  • The Supreme Court remembers that, yes, there is a Constitution.
  • John McCain is a phony.
  • Iran, Israel, and last, but not least, anal leakage!

Uncle Dan Report #6: Michael Savage, Obama, and all the typical nonesense

UDR#6

Make sure you all donate your fair share to the Uncle Dan Report, also:

  • Who is worse, Michael Savage or Rush Limbaugh?
  • What happened with Obama and Clinton in their secret meeting? Sounds kinda sexy.
  • Some thoughts on "Iron Man", a fine film, and a bit better than the usual summer crap!
  • I whine about the gas prices and driving to Chicago
And the show ends with a special song by my friend Bob Goode, and since everyone has the blues, I figured I'd go to the Blues Fest in Chicago this weekend.

Uncle Dan Report #5: Nobody screws things up like the Democratic Party

UDR#5

I can't help but fear, with past experience, that the Democratic Party is going to completely screw up what should be a cake-walk through this election.

Also, a short tribute to the late great Bo Diddley, and the inventor of the Pringles tube.

And, was that crazy lady at the Democratic meeting Lynne Samuels??

This is a short one, so it won't be too much trouble to listen.
